The Post I Never Shared With You

Authenticity, Vulnerability - The Post I Never Shared

A GOD-LOVING, AUTOIMMUNE DISORDER SUFFERING, HEALTH AND FITNESS BLOGGER….WHAT???

A few months back I posted THE PATH, a poem I had written for my husband when we were young and new in love. I was led to publish that drippy prose from a sense of lacking vulnerability on this blog. No surprise, as does happen when writers get real, it was one of my most attended posts. It tells me people want real warts, terrible poetry and all.

Then I found a dress, a VINTAGE DRESS. A dress that taught me about being authentic. To not be afraid of who I am. This polyester fancy encouraged me to step boldly forward and say “Hey world, here’s me!”. #stillworkingonit

Vintage Dress- Authenticity - bold- Encouragement

Well, here we go again. This post has been needling my brain for some time. I was asked several months ago to author a post for SHAZZY FITNESS on how God prepares for the future. I buried it and did not share it with you, my readers. Not only have I not shared my faith on WELLFITandFED, but I have also not shared much about my ongoing health issues. This post lets it all hang out there.

In advance, I thank you for taking the time to read. I will likely be sharing more about my health issues.  It seems the more I talk about it with you readers individually, the more I realize people want to be reminded that it’s not perfect people that can help you with answers, it is broken people who happen to be a few steps ahead of you on the journey.

So what do you need to do this week to step out in boldness? To Whom do you need to come clean and share that part of you, you have been hiding. I challenge you this week to pick one person to trust and go real!

Love that. I love your honesty and truth! I think this week I really need to step into my own light, to help others find theres!

        1. Nice Krista! I love that! It is a hard journey to constantly ask if we are being our authentic selves but doing so helps us experience a greater life!!

  1. It’s always funny how the posts I’m most afraid of posting because my over-analytical mind thinks no one will read it/get what I’m saying, are always the most popular and well-received. I think sometimes we are so afraid of opening up the door to vulnerability that we live life in the safe zone. Thanks for this amazing reminder to be yourself and not be afraid to share yourself with the world.

  2. Sometimes it is best to let yourself be vulnerable to allow yourself to heal, in a way. Allowing your readers into your world can also add a little different type of connection that you do not get in other ways. My hats off to you and good luck!

    1. Thank you, Jenn. I appreciate the note. I am practicing authenticity and it is a work in progress for sure!

  3. Thank you for being so authentic and sharing your struggles. It sounds like you have had a LOT of barriers but that you are also trusting on God and His timing. Love that! xoxo

    1. Sure am, Angie. Better at it some days rather than others. Thanks for checking in. 🙂
